  • I'm Crazy

I'm inviting a friend over Friday who claims she is a spiritual medium.  We're going to do some funky spirit-stuff.  I have friends on both sides of this.  Some who will say, "oh yeah!  Right on." And others who will say, "that's bullS*"

Either way, it should be a fun night.

  • Job hunting

I've been using a few good job sites, but I feel like there's NOTHING out there right now.

I applied for a great position at the US Forest service (as a technical writer). We'll see if I get a call back on that.  I know I'm a good fit and it would allow us to stay in Fort Collins.

I'm so ready to start work.  I haven't had a 9 to 5 job in years.  I know it's really weird, but I miss it.

  • Super Nerdness

I'm a huge George R.R. Martin fan.  His book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire" has been adapted for HBO (well the first book anyway) and the new series begins next week.

Needless to say, I am absolutely thrilled.  Here's a short trailer called "Poison."

Will write more about this next week for sure.

  • Whatever Happened To . . .

Posting on my Xanga?  Facebook has made me so lazy.

I went back and looked at my old Xanga posts the other day and realized I have a journal of my life, right in front of me, with wonderful details.

Now?  I just have a year or so that comprises a big "hole."

Can I start this up again?

    I hope so.

    News (quick catch up)

Defended my MFA a few weeks ago (yah)!

Looking desperately for a job.  The head of the English Department at CSU emailed me to ask if I had applied for the internship coordinator position, that my "name had come up a few times" in regard to the position.  So, I applied.

    The Good:

    • Teaching experience (I have to teach at least 2 classes per year).
    • Great work experience.
    • Hanging out with people I know and like.

    The Bad:

    • 9 month position (usually contracted for 3 years)
    • 17000 for those 9 months.  (This comes out to exactly $10 an hour.  I did the math and counted the weeks.)
    • I'd have to find work over the summer.  This summer?  Hardly possible as any teaching job has already been filled for the summer and if I want to teach outside of CSU, I'd have to have my graduate degree in hand.  That will not confer for a while.

So, not only am I looking for full-time work, but I'm also looking for a temporary summer position in case the above job comes through (and in case I want to take it).

God, I'm using a LOT of parenthesis. ((()))

    I always have....

That's it for now.  We'll start slow.

Hi to all my old friends.
