  • Galactica WTF

Adama needs to get his head out.
President needs to stop being a baby-girl cheerleader whiny-pants
Gaeta needs to get over it.
Hotdog, well . . . needs some Dr. Spock.
Zerrick needs to just keep being himself because he's Zerrick.
Baltar needs to keep his hair short because it's mega-hawt.

Oh and Six's baby looked like ET.

Suddenly, Kara Thrace is the most sane person on the battlestar.  That's just fracked up.

  • Odds and Ends

Monday I start school again.  I'm trying to read some fun stuff as fast as I can, level my ass off in WoW and catch up on my Netflix queue.  Geesh.  So much goofing off to do and so little time.

E was sick for a few days--poopy stomach sick.  Poor thing.  She's feeling better and actually eating better as well.

She can throw a wicked tantrum now.

She also had her 18 month.  Off the charts for height.  50% for weight.  Big head.  Ahead on motor skills.  Only one shot (yay!)  She even got a sticker after.

J and I got a "new" couch.  We have Keri's old one--the one that I used to lay on and languidly suck in hours and hours of television when I used to live with her.  I feel special.  I get THE couch.  Mmmmm.

Trying to clean my house up before school begins.

Ordered all of my books for Brit. lit class:

    A Little Princess
    Mister Pip
    Jane Eyre
    Great Expectations
    She
    Silas Marner
    Mary Barton
    Romantic Natural Histories

I've read Jane Eyre (long ago,) and have heard of "Great Expectations," and "Little Princess."  The rest are a bit of a mystery to me.

Trying to get some writing done before Monday.  I have been out of stem insofar as short story ideas.  I'd rather turn in chapters of a novel, but not sure how the prof. jives with that.  My last one was ok with it.  Some are not.

Martin's 2nd Fire/Ice book is rockin hard.  I consume it at a mad pace.  I read my friggin' eyes out.  D has started the first.  He's gonna be hooked in no time.  Thoughts so far (for those who have read the series):

Love Tyrion, but he's making mistakes.
Bran is great.  He needs to embrace his dreams.
Arya rocks!  She has the power of death lingering on her breath.  (bye bye Weez)
    Sansa.  Poor poor Sansa.
Jon is heading toward some trouble methinks.
Where is Arya's wolf?  Geesh.  Gimme something here.

    Anyway, that's my post.

  • So, what do you do when there are a group of you and one within the group hates your guts.  I mean, you aren't sure why.  She won't respond to emails or phone calls.  She just ignores you, even though you've tried to communicate.  You wish you knew why so you could apologize for whatever it was you did.  None of the other people in the group know, they just kind of shrug and say, "that's how Jane_Doe is sometimes, passive aggressive and such...."

Do you just give up?  Even though you got along great with this girl in the past and you find yourself going through a laundry list of what you could have possibly done wrong to honk her off?  Or, you think maybe you're just an idiot and stupid and she's just now realizing how lame you are?

I'm tempted to give it one last shot.  I wish I had ESP.

Do people really still do this in their 30's?

  • My Rambling "Lost" Post...

    Spoilers Ahead...

I have to say, Lost rocked pretty hard last night.  The only thing that's annoying me is that Kate will be the last one to agree to go back to the island and they'll have 2-3 more drawn-out episodes where they try to convince her.

*The "lawyers" that came to visit her were Ben's employees, imho.  He's trying to flush her out.

The red-headed chick has a connection with the island.  It's like she's getting sicker and sicker as things progress.  The "island" could be dying?

Hurley seeing Anna Lucia was awesome.  I am a big Michelle Rodriquez fan (even though she's a media-ho and always in and out of jail for drunk driving,) I can't help it.  I love me some Michelle.

So, it seems like they are "unstuck in time" in a sense and will continue to jump around.  Desmond is the key apparently, since he can "remember" the future and other things.  (Please, writers, don't kill Penny!)

As for the show not having an "ending," I'm starting to have a bit more faith in JJ.  I think he learned a valuable lesson with Alias (and how not to fuck up the ending and last season of an amazing show.)

Ben is badass as usual.  I don't care if he's evil.  He's my guy.

Richard (eye-make up dude) is still a bit of an enigma.

Hurley throwing his hotpocket at Ben was the highlight for me last night.  I was laughing so hard, I thought I was going to wake the chitlin' up.  My lord.

Whaaaaaat happened to Sayid?  Geesh, he seemed on the road to redemption and now he's master ninja killing machine.  Maybe Ben killed his woman and he has turned into the monster he was trying so hard NOT to become.

Lots more to say, I imagine, but I'll leave it at that (and see what Josue has to say.)

  • Life (or something like it)

Galactica premiere was . . . wow (as it always is.)  Only 9 episodes left.  Makes me sad.  But, Lost starts soon.

I'm still feeling like I've been hit by a truck.  I hate waiting.  I feel like my life is in someone else's hands.  Sorry to be vague, I just don't want to throw a bunch of what ifs out there until I have some definite answers.

I'm tired.  And I miss having my friends around.  I think I've pissed some of them off by being absent or for other reasons.  I'm sorry.  Just give me a little time and some good thoughts.

E is growing huge.  She's the same height as her older cousin (older by 5 months.)

She has big, honkin' feet.  Size 7's are almost too small.

Nothing much else to report.  Hope things are good across the board for you guys.  Off to watch trash television on VH1.

  • Up For Air

Hey, thanks for all the good wishes.  I didn't realize that many peeps actually came here anymore.  Life is just being a big, nasty monster right now.  The worst part is waiting--waiting for news, waiting for others.  I feel like my life in another person's hands (or a group of people.)  And I'm not accustomed to that.  I may post more when I have news.  Until then, I'd rather just try and forget things for a while.

Galactica starts tonight.  Very excited about that, but sad as well.  Only 10 more episodes left?  Or something close to that.  At least I have Song of Ice and Fire to look forward to on HBO, whenever that comes out.  These George R.R. Martin books are amazing!  So much I am learning as a writer from him.  I sent a copy to FS.  He actually read Ender's Game (which I gave him a while back,) so I know he's good for it.  A few others I know have jumped on to see what it's about, even folks who aren't into fantasy.  It reads more like Pillars of the Earth to me, truth be told.  I think it may remove Dune from its place on top of my favorite book list.  Never thought that could happen.

  • Damn

Going through some hard, nasty shit right now.  Life is not good on a few levels.  I don't want to talk about it.  I just need some general good mojo and good thoughts.  I know that only 3.5 people actually come here, but that's good enough for me.

I will say that it's been great for weight-loss.  I can't eat.  I also can't sleep.  I'm not a joy to be around, but J is doing great.  So is E.  She is definitely my light.

    Thank you.
